Yssis Davis, a recent UC Riverside graduate was awarded the Black Girl 44 scholarship through the Impact of a Vote organization founded by Deesha Dyer, that helps fund Black women who have secured internships in public service or policy. This organization recognized the crucial need for Black women to fill roles in the public sector and offer aid for those who experienced financial hardships due to non-paying internships.
