Chelsea awarded 1 out of 2 Mini Grants for $5,000 from the UCR Center for Healthy Communities
Chelsea McElwee, a third-year graduate student, was awarded one out of two $5000 mini-grants through the UCR Center for Healthy Communities (CHC) for her project titled ThriveHer: Nurturing Girls’ Strength Across the Inland Empire. The ThriveHer project consists of a multi-layer initiative that will feature a workshop during and follow-up sessions after the 24th Annual Empowering Young Women Conference (EYWC) on March 8th, 2025, emphasizing mental wellness, self-expression, and resilience. The EYWC is a free full-day experience that is open to all girls between the ages of 12-21 and hosted by the Adrian Dell and Carmen Roberts Foundation. As one of the planning committee members for the EYWC, she assists with outreach efforts, planning logistics, and providing collaborative feedback. Check out the CHC blog for more on Chelsea’s ThriveHer Project. Woohoo, Chelsea!
